Character and Background- Rough Start
[img]
So this is probably my most ambitious project ever... but I'm actually enjoying it. So we'll see where it goes.
Sorry it's a little hard to tell whats going on, I think I'm almost out of my planning stages... hopefully. (rough, rough, rough...)
I plan to add two more characters to the right and in the background. As for the girl I've got going right now I'm going to switch her pose to what I've got in red (thought her thighs turned out too big for my liking).
As for the background... I've no idea where I'm going to start... Tips and tricks anyone? What are your guys' work processes like?

This is awesome!!!! I don't have a lot of critique for you cause you're still in a pretty early stage. I would just say keep at it and keep pushing your work.
Re: Character and Background- Rough Start
The only thought I had was the axe blade is right up against the edge of the image so it pulls the eye out of the painting. Not sure how you want to handle. Otherwise I love what you have going on! Good call on fixing the anatomy. The face is cute

i love it micah and i know the character kinda looks diffrent from ur style but i love this one as well those huge thights XD <3 are sexeh
Re: Character and Background- Rough Start
I agree with Amie. The axe is really close to the edge so maybe just move the character itself just slightly over. Other than that you have mad skills and I'm still trying to figure out how i'm going to steal your hands 0 - 0
Are you putting your griffin character in the picture as well?

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate all y'alls feedback!
I'm afraid I can't move the character any further from the side, so I'm gonna revise the halberd and/or the pose and see if I can't make it work out differently. I might go ahead and make her left handed.... we'll see.
And yeah the griffin will be in this one... I'm probably going to die doing his wings...

I hate painting rocks too. You wouldn't think that it would be so hard to make them look right! I have a couple artists that I look to for inspiration for rocks. They handle them really well.
So far so good!
