What thing made the choice to be your major? Empty What thing made the choice to be your major?

So I wanted to ask people this to start the conversation, is what was the very thing that got you to choose your major.
I know that there are probably many things that has influenced you to choose your career path, but if your like me, there was that thing that just pushed it over the edge that made up your mind.

Through out my life, I did think video games was going to be calling, because playing Super Mario World, Star Fox, and Donkey Kong was so much fun to play, that that's what I wanted to do with my life. Because I thought at that time, games could get no better. (Like we all did at that age.) But I got older and wanted to move into animation.

During High school, I started to appreciate cartoons more and more. Learning the movements in Disney Shorts, and watching 90's cartoons like Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Batman:Animated Series. ect. I just thought it was so cool to be able to make such well done animations and being able to do what ever you wanted was just awesome. I looked at Goofy cartoons over and over again, really diving into how detailed the movements, actions and reactions. So I started to make animations of my own during High School.
But, near the end of School, I got to see "Princess Mononoke" and the was the pnicale of why I wanted to be an animator. That movie was just so goo, so well put together. I loved the animation, the story, the characters and the over all feel of the story.
Hayao Miyazaki did not over use what he had, and did not under use it eather. I just thought, I HAVE to do this, and nothing is going to stop me.

Sure, I was majoring influence by early Disney work, like "The Sword in the Stone" "The Great Mouse Detective" and "The Lion King", but MIyazaki's work just hit home for me.
And so now, I want to be able to tell a story, animate a sotry well enough when to go over the top and whent o pull back for a rich cartoon that will make you laugh, cry or get really engrossed by the story.

So what was the thing that broke the camels back in a good way for you? Or are you still discovering it?

I watched Finding Nemo. I got a great feeling from that movie. I can't describe it, but I wanted to give that same feeling to another person in the world. Now here I am, trying to do that.
