Hey be careful what you draw for your finals. This is a good piece to draw in sketchbooks and even digital art if you want to learn different styles and techniques, but even if you do draw the picture yourself it's still seen as stealing the artist's idea if it looks exactly the same.
I'm guessing you were using "50 Chibis Disney : Aladdin" by Princekido correct?

Also to become a great artist you need to break out of the habit of coying other peoples work. It's a great way to learn but you need your own ideas if you want to come up with great portfolio pieces.

I definitely love that you are learning from the original picture because your lineart and coloring has improved. If you still want to use the style of Jasmine and Aladdin then go ahead, but try to incorporate your own idea into it. Maybe have Aladdin on his carpet ready to pick up Jasmine from her balcony or maybe have them cuddiling in her garden with Raja in the background.

Hey Y'all!

Bobbi and Sudi are correct on this, except, Brittany got approval to do this piece. For the sake of Brittany learning some techniques, I gave her permission to redraw someone's work.

What do you guys think she can do to make this piece even cooler than the original?

haha ok I just didn't want her to get in trouble or anything. I think instead of just a plain starry background like the original picture it should have the tip of the palace in it somewhere, maybe in the corner? A moon would be nice as well.

I see that you added some shadows to the figures which is good. Where you going to add any highlights? You have some nice ones in the gem and eyes so it would be fun to see more of that.

totally cool, and I'm glad you got permission to do this. I think we were all a little worried there. lol As far as things you can do to make this more original I would say right now it feels very cell shaded and one of the great things Andy has taught us this quarter is how to make digital feel more like paint and less like raster images. I would apply some of those techniques to it and maybe even eliminate the need for line-art. You already have your base colors and shading. Now just have some fun with it. =D
