So if you haven't heard about this, Adobe is changing there whole business model, to monthly subscriptions now. And I'm wondering if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

Adobe Cloud
The Pro thing about this is, you will be able to post and share with the millions of people who also use it with 20 Gigs online space. You'll be granted to every program that adobe has to offer. And finally allows you to "own" a legal copy. And students, teachers, and schools only have to pay $20.

The Con is your only borrowing the program and will not be able to access your files if you stop paying for the services, which is a huge issue. And it's just really hard to get past that you will never own the program ( I have no idea how this will react to people who already have the stand alone programs)

I just don't know how I feel about this. To hell with Adobe wanting to suck money out of me and possibly damaging my future career. We are all poor as dirt, and simply can not do such a thing. but... I would be apart of all updates and such, and not have to rely on our schools computers for the ability to use it. But do you think paying $20 OR $50 dollars for all their programs is a steal or a joke?

I understand that Abobe wants the stability of consistent income, but it should be a choice not forced as they're doing it. If people still had the option to buy it outright then I think more people would be willing to do the month to month to a) try out the software and b) still have access to the programs they need until they can afford to buy it outright. Some people may never even buy it outright, but would be more likely to stay month to month simply because they have the choice not to.

Its like phone companies. Whenever I have a phone contract with a company I usually cancel halfway through, but if there's nothing forcing me to stay I'll usually stick around for years.

It's kind of strange, I have the same feeling that forceing me will drive me away, but if I get the choice, I tend to stay. To bad buisness don't have that ideal to welcome you to them rather than suck you in as soon as they see you.

Lucky for us, CS6 is A-okay to sit on for quite a while till we feel the newer version is a must. plus, there are many other painting programs out there that are good to. (because I don't use photo editing really)
